What is Comment Filter?
Comment Filter is a feature that gives you more control over the words, phrases, and emojis you see in Likes with comments. It helps prevent negative interactions before they start, creating a safer and more positive dating experience.
How does Comment Filter work?
Comment Filter works in two ways: automatic filtering and custom word filtering.
Auto Filter
When Auto Filter is turned on, Likes with comments that include disrespectful language are automatically hidden.
To manage Auto Filter:
- Go to Settings > Safety > Comment Filter
- Toggle Auto Filter on or off

Auto Filter is optional, but it is turned on by default for users on supported app versions.
Custom word filtering
You can also choose specific words, phrases, or emojis you don’t want to see.
To add custom filters:
- Go to Settings > Safety > Comment Filter
- Under Block specific words, add the words or emojis you want hidden
You can update or remove items from your list at any time.
What happens to filtered comments?
If a Like includes a comment that’s filtered, the profile will appear in your Hidden Likes section with a label that says “Comment Hidden.”
If you open the profile, you can view the comment and choose to match, skip, or report the user.
If you don’t want to see the comment at all, you can delete the profile directly from Hidden Likes without opening it.
Does Comment Filter affect old comments?
Yes. Once Auto Filter is enabled, some previously received comments that contain harmful language may be hidden automatically.
Will the sender know their comment was hidden?
No. The sender is not notified if their comment is filtered.
Do I have to use Comment Filter?
No. Both Auto Filter and custom word filtering are completely optional. They’re available to give you more control, but how you use them is entirely up to you.
