Want to add an extra layer of trust to your profile? Selfie Verification is an optional and easy way to show others that you’re genuinely you. It uses a quick video selfie to confirm
your profile photos match your real appearance.
Once verified, you’ll receive a Selfie Verified badge on your profile, helping potential matches feel more confident connecting with you.
Note: In some regions, a biometric Face Check™ is required. If your scan matches your profile photos, you’ll also receive the Selfie Verified badge.
What You Need to Verify
Your profile must include at least one clear, front-facing photo that:
- Shows only you (no other people)
- Is unfiltered and in focus
- Clearly shows your face, facing the camera
- Does not include sunglasses or face coverings
How to Start Selfie Verification
- Tap your photo icon on the far right of the navigation bar
- Tap the gray checkmark under your name
- Tap Continue and allow camera access
- Follow the on-screen prompts to record your selfie
Verification is based on the photos on your profile at the time. If you change your photos, you may lose verification and will need to retry.
Having Trouble Verifying?
Please make sure your photo meets these requirements:
- No other people in the photo or background
- Plain or simple background
- Clear image (not blurry or pixelated)
- No filters applied
- Your full face is visible and not cropped
- You are facing the camera directly

How Selfie Verification Works
Selfie Verification uses two secure steps:
- Liveness Check: Confirms a real, live person is taking the video.
- 3D Face Authentication: Compares your video selfie to your profile photos using facial recognition technology.
Facial geometry data is used only to confirm your identity and estimate age. Your video selfie is never added to your profile.
What We Keep After Verification
- Three screenshots from your video selfie (for auditing and security)
- Your verification result (verified or not)
- Your age estimate
Facial geometry data is deleted within 24 hours after verification, unless Face Check is required in your region.
Your Privacy
We process Selfie Verification data with your consent. All retained data is deleted when your account is closed, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
